Christian Counselor in Olathe, KS

Hi, I’m Jennifer Sanger, LCPC, LPC

Olathe, KS Therapist for Those Facing Anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Perfectionism, and People-Pleasing

Since 2011, I’ve helped individuals understand their emotions, uncover the patterns that keep them stuck, and reconnect with who they are beneath the anxiety, pressure, and expectations they carry. I strive to offer a place where you can feel your feelings while being met with compassion and understanding. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you and have a front-row seat to your growth.

I believe there is room for both the

hard and the joyful parts of being human.

I’m someone who values honesty, curiosity, and (when the moment calls for it) a little humor. Some of my favorite moments with clients come when we can laugh together while also making space for the deeper emotions underneath.

I learned early on that humor can be a powerful way we care for ourselves. When I moved away for college, I found myself at a dinner table with a group of strangers after an emotional goodbye with my family. Instead of staying overwhelmed by the sadness, I found myself making everyone laugh. I remember thinking, “Who is this Jennifer?” and realizing she was someone worth getting to know.

Therapy is a deeply personal experience. Finding someone you feel comfortable with matters.

If you’re ready to talk through what you’re looking for, I’d love to connect.

Learning to Welcome Every Part of Ourselves

One of my favorite reminders about emotions comes from the movie Inside Out: we are meant to make space for every part of ourselves—the joyful parts, the anxious parts, the embarrassed parts, and everything in between.

Therapy is not about fighting the parts of ourselves we don’t understand. It’s about becoming curious about them, understanding what they’re trying to communicate, and learning how to respond with compassion.

Meet Embarrassment

Yes, I sometimes have an Embarrassment plushie in my office. He’s soft, comforting, and surprisingly heavy—because shame and embarrassment often feel that way too. They can make us want to hide, but they are also parts of the human experience that deserve understanding and compassion.

Serving Olathe & Beyond

While my office is located in downtown Olathe, KS—just 25 minutes from Kansas City, 15 minutes from Overland Park, and a short drive from Lenexa, Gardner, Leawood, and Shawnee—I also offer virtual counseling across Kansas and Missouri.
