How can you help me with OCD?
How can you help me with OCD?
With OCD, the gold standard of care is exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, which means we will intentionally confront your fears while actively resisting the compulsive behaviors or rituals typically used to relieve anxiety.
We will create a list of feared situations and rank them by how much distress they cause. We will work on the items that cause a small amount of distress before we move to ones that cause significant distress.

Yes, I work with both men and women dealing with obsessions and/or compulsions.
Why does my OCD feel so physically overwhelming or cause so much anxiety?
Why does my OCD feel so physically overwhelming or cause so much anxiety?
Your brain treats intrusive thoughts as life-threatening emergencies, which puts your nervous system into overdrive. When your body is in fight or flight, even if there is no threat, your body is flooded with adrenaline and cortisol because it thinks you are actually in physical danger. Your brain believes that the thing you are afraid of is a real threat, and it is responding to the threat.
Can we integrate my faith into my OCD therapy sessions?
Can we integrate my faith into my OCD therapy sessions?
Yes, we can absolutely integrate faith in our therapy sessions. Effective clinical treatments can be combined with scripture, faith, and spiritual affirmations. We can use prayer and meditation to create grounding techniques to help soothe your nervous system. You can dictate how much or how little faith is brought into each session.
Do you accept insurance?
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. I will call your insurance to confirm eligibility and benefits. This allows us to be on the same page about what you may owe for therapy sessions, such as a copay or a deductible.
